The Revelation of the Holy Spirit – The Power that Works in us

The word of God in Ephesians 3:20 says “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”

When Jesus gave up his spirit and went to the grave to fight the power of death and deliver mankind from the grasp of satan, He was endowed by God with the power of resurrection and the power to subdue, this same power works inside us all.

Apostle Paul made us realize three great revelations in Ephesians 1:17-23
1. We have been given the power to bring back to life any dead situations in our lives.
2. We have been given power to subdue any power or spirit that may want to affect God’s plan for our lives.
3. This great power establishes our reign. Just like Christ, we have been given the headship over all principalities.

We are all miracle workers, capable of amazing things but we have not fully tapped into the full potential of that power God has deposited inside us. Jesus said in John 14:12 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. If we have been assured that we will do greater than Jesus did, why are we barely surviving in today’s world?

In Ephesians 1:19-20 and 3:20-21, two key words that stand out here are “Power” and “Work”. The Greek word for power is “Dunamis” which simply translates to strength and might, a moving force, the second word “Work” means energy. This power is the Holy spirit power that energizes us, it is power in action.

God is our ultimate power source, the amount of power we generate from him depends on the type of connection we have to the source, a lot of us are weak today because we have been disconnected from the source. If we are not experiencing God’s power, we need to examine our lives and rectify whatever is disconnecting us from the Father.
