Our History

The Journey So Far

Since 2006, Pastor George and Pastor Gloria Irabor have been the Senior Pastors of Fountain of Grace. Through the help of The Holy Spirit, they have grown Fountain of Grace into a Church of about 750 members and the church growth is steady and consistent. They are responsible for the vision, values and culture of the church.

How It All Began

Before the Church started, a handful of people began holding weekly prayer meetings in the home of Pastor George Bryan Irabor. The Lord impressed on Pastor George’s heart the need for the word of God in the body of Christ around the world. As this vision came, he continued to pray and seek the face of the Lord for how and when it would come to pass.

In January 2006, the growing need for a new movement of God to begin in New England that was laid on Pastor George’s heart was met. The Lord gave him the name, Fountain of Grace. Pastor George inquired from the Lord why he should call it “Fountain of Grace” and the Lord responded, “Let his grace be a fountain in the lives of his people and let color be added to their lives”. Hence the dictum is “Adding Color to Lives”.

As the direction from the Lord came on what to do and where to go and after a series of Church planning meetings, the Church moved to the town of Dedham, Massachusetts. The Church started on April 9th, 2006 at Vinny “T” Restaurant with about 15 people. This was just the beginning of a different journey, and in September of the same year, the Church moved to another location, 190 Milton Street.

By March 2010 Fountain of Grace had outgrown its space and was ready to move to a bigger location. 427 Turnpike Street Canton, MA became the new home and the congregation quickly expanded. In 2014 an expansion of God’s work was formed when Fountain of Grace Academy, was founded to provide a loving and safe environment to nurture and teach young children age appropriate academics and Christian values from age 4 weeks to 5 years. The childcare center has impacted the lives of many children in the community with God’s word and aided in their growth and development.

Since being in Canton, Fountain of Grace has been recognized by the town on several occasions. The Canton Board of Selectmen proclaimed November 3rd 2013 as Fountain of Grace Church “Pastor Appreciation Day” in recognition of the service, dedication and commitment of Pastors George and Gloria Irabor to the citizens of the community. On September 24th 2014 Fountain of Grace was featured in the Canton Citizen and the works of our church recognized. The Canton Board of Selectmen also proclaimed April 24th 2016 as “Fountain of Grace Church day”.

We give God all the praise for the great things that He is doing and will continue to do in Fountain of Grace.
