Encountering God through the power of words – The power of confession

In this week’s message we’ll see how important the words that come out of our mouths are. The most powerful thing on planet earth is our words; it has a highly significant impact on how our lives turn out. The bible says in Proverbs 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. The question now is this; what have you been speaking over your life?

God understands the power and importance of spoken words; He demonstrated this by speaking this world into existence and as heirs to the kingdom we have been endowed with the same power, but most of us have misused it. We are products of our words; our present conditions are framed by the confessions we have knowingly or unknowingly uttered with our mouths.

Before God can start a work of miracle in our lives, He first changes our thought process and the things we confess. God can only move as far as we let Him, if our confessions do not align with his will for our lives, if we constantly speak against his word and confess negativity, our words can hinder or cancel God’s plans for us.

Proverbs 18:20 say “A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;
from the produce of his lips he shall be filled. Our words are more important than we can fathom yet we utter them so casually, what others speak over us is not as important as what we say concerning ourselves, therefore from this moment on let’s endeavor to constantly pronounce positivity over our lives and let our confessions align with God’s will.

You life is your garden and your words are seeds, be careful what you sow.
